Build a brighter future with a free low carbon course at SGS College

The path to a lower carbon future starts at SGS College, with the launch of a new, state of the art portfolio of courses, which are completely free.

The SGS Skills for Low Carbon Programme, which is funded by the European Social Fund (ESF), will enable individuals and organisations to gain the necessary skills and qualifications to support the delivery of the large infrastructure projects, in the Low Carbon, Construction, and Engineering industries throughout Gloucestershire.

The College hopes this new, free offering will bring radical transformation to the region’s lower-carbon future, providing a large variety of courses including: Introducing Sustainable Energy Efficiency, IOSH, NEBOSH, Energy Management, First Award in Engineering and many more.

The College is also offering a free introduction course to anyone interested, covering: Engineering, Construction, Plumbing and Electrical. In addition, all introductory courses will include free qualifications in Low Carbon, Electrical, Waste Management and Energy Efficiency.

SGS Principal, Sara-Jane Watkins, comments: “The urgent push forward towards a low carbon future is gathering momentum. The College hopes that this quality selection of free lower carbon courses will help catalyse the shift away from our dependence on fossil fuels and provide a well-trained, future-proofed workforce, ready to meet the needs of the region, which currently requires thousands of new recruits in the Engineering and Construction sections.”
