GFirst LEP's Education and Skills Team are looking to develop ‘Discovery Boxes’ for students with particularly high needs in the county’s special schools to support with the school’s careers education programme. These learners have communication and sensory needs which mean that they are unlikely to enter paid work in the future, but learning about jobs and work in their community is still a very important part to their development.
Could your company assist with putting together some practical ‘Discovery Boxes’ for the 7 community special schools in Gloucestershire? Items for inclusion could be something that the students could wear, smell or touch to help their engagement and learning. I.e. a coffee shop could support with a box including an apron, bag of coffee beans, a cup, menu and a takeaway bag etc.
