Digital transformation is the process all organisations need to go through to operate effectively in today’s rapidly changing environment. What help does your business need to do this?

In its role as the voice of Gloucestershire businesses, GFirst LEP is trying to better understand:

- the digital needs of your business e.g. reaching more customers, increasing production, increasing sales, better stock control, better customer service

- whether your organisation would benefit from recruiting suitably digitally-trained and qualified staff to help you make the changes you want

- whether you have staff who could retrain to help you make these changes

GFirst LEP is doing this so that it can help you and other local businesses meet these needs by linking your business with high-quality training providers and with individuals with the skills, qualifications and experience you need.

How can you help us?

To help us better understand the support you need and the possible job opportunities for individuals with digital skills in your organisation, please complete this short online survey. What happens after you've completed the survey?

Your survey response will be used to help us build up a picture of the digital training and recruitment needs of local businesses so that we can work with a network of training providers and other organisations to get you the tailored support you need. We fully understand that your business needs will change over time so the skills or job roles you need will change too. You will have further opportunities to discuss your training and recruitment needs with us.

Creating potential new employees for you through bootcamps

Our first opportunity to get the support you need will be through a programme of ‘digital bootcamps’. These bootcamps will complement existing longer-term training available by providing a rapid, sharp training through bespoke short digital skills programmes (16 weeks) that will develop the technical, personal and professional skills required. As much as possible, the training providers delivering the bootcamps will work with employers to tailor the bootcamps and teaching to meet specific needs, ensuring the talent emerging better fits any vacancies you may have.

The individuals successfully completing the bootcamps will be ready to work with your business and other businesses in entry/mid-level positions in a number of different specialisms including:

- Programming and software engineering

- Web development / creative digital media

- Data science and data analytics

- Cyber security and digital forensics

- Devops - helping your business to combine software development and IT operations to shorten systems development

- Games development and animation

- Artificial intelligence

- Agri-tech

The bootcamps are currently being designed and developed and your survey response will really help with this. The bootcamps are planned to start later in 2021 and if you agree in our survey to allow us to contact you, we will send you further information as the bootcamps are developed and launched.

What if the help my business needs doesn’t fit with what the bootcamps offer?

That is fine and we know the ‘digital bootcamps’ offer won’t suit all business needs. Please do still tell us what you can about the support your business needs and we will do our best to link you with training and other providers who can best meet these needs for you.
