Evergreen Computing develops innovative website for voluntary sector
Evergreen Computing has launched a new innovative website today for Gloucestershire’s voluntary sector to keep up to date with what’s happening locally.
4 November 2016
Evergreen Computing has been working in partnership with the voluntary sector, in particular the Gloucestershire VCS Alliance, to create a practical tool to help the sector work more effectively. The website contains a calendar of events, tenders and funding opportunities. It’s the first time this information has been available in one place.
The aim is for all charities and community groups in the county to be kept up to date about what is happening locally. Voluntary organisations can use the website to promote their own events.
The calendar is now live and packed full of information aimed for the sector. It features a chat function for charities to ask questions about events and funding opportunities. The aim is to facilitate partnership working within the sector.
Andrew Cope at Evergreen Computing said, "We wanted to invest in the voluntary sector but rather than give cash we wanted to offer up our skills. This way we are able to benefit hundreds of charities across the county and leave a legacy for years to come."
Matt Lennard, Head of Operations at the Gloucestershire Alliance, said, "We have been trying to encourage this kind of cross-sector working for many years now. We are delighted that Evergreen were prepared to take a leap of faith and support the sector in this way. They have produced something that all charities and community groups can benefit from."
