GFirst LEP Launch Skills Strategy for Gloucestershire
GFirst LEP’s Employment and Skills Team have been working hard on bringing together a comprehensive Skills Strategy for Gloucestershire, which has been published today.
1 February 2022
The Skills Strategy, in collaboration with colleagues at Gloucestershire County Council, the Gloucestershire Skills Advisory Panel and other stakeholders, brings together an overview of the employment, recruitment and skills needs of Gloucestershire businesses and employers, together with the skills that individuals need to achieve their potential.
In order to provide these skills for local businesses and local residents, the complex careers, employment and skills landscape needs to be ‘decluttered’, co-ordinated effectively across the county and for employers, training providers and funders to work collaboratively.
Peter Carr, Director of Employment and Skills said; “The team has worked extremely hard to identify and communicate skills needs in Gloucestershire together with ways to tackle them. Given the complexity of the local skills system and the increasing demand that local employers have for trained staff, we know there is significant work ahead of us. I’m looking forward to the challenges this will bring and the strategy will help steer everyone involved to provide the support and training needed by local employers and residents.”
