GFirst LEP offers free customer service courses to Gloucestershire businesses
Gloucestershire’s retail, leisure and hospitality SMEs can benefit from free WorldHost courses throughout May and June, helping to get their staff, and the county, ready for the 2015 Rugby World Cup.
28 April 2015
GFirst LEP are working with SERCO to provide training for 600 people with the nationally acclaimed WorldHost training programme.
The training courses are open to the county’s businesses within the retail, leisure and hospitality sectors, that would like their front of house staff (and any staff that have communication with customers) to gain further awareness of customer service.
The skills learnt on the courses will teach front line staff to deliver excellent customer service, help them understand how day to day interactions can be improved, and learn vital communication skills; resulting in a qualification for staff when the course is completed.
Carole Stafford, of Gloucester business Sugar Celebrations, said: ‘We sent four members of our team on the WorldHost course, and all of our employees felt they really benefited from the training, as well as thoroughly enjoying the experience’
As Gloucester City and the surrounding districts are set to expect an influx of visitors for the Rugby World Cup, embedding the world-renowned WorldHost principles into staff in the county will help businesses become ready to welcome, and make the best impression with visitors.
David Owen, Chief Executive of GFirst LEP, commented: ‘Skills development is at the top of our agenda, and this world class training for Gloucestershire’s businesses will really help to make us a sustainable county and develop the skills of customer service staff efficiently.’
