Gloucestershire Airport's New Road Brings New Opportunities
Yesterday GFirst LEP officially opened the new road at Gloucestershire Airport. The airport showcased the work of the £550,000 allocated to them through the Gloucestershire Growth Deal for the development, whilst explaining how the funding will be a catalyst for the Airport’s continued growth and investment.

The funding enabled the new road to be built and upgraded infrastructure earmarked for new aircraft hangars. The development will bring further investment into the county, bring skilled jobs to the region and attract expanding and relocating businesses to Gloucestershire, all to an airport that is currently home to over 180 aircrafts and 30 companies employing more than 500 people.
David Owen, Chief Executive of GFirst LEP, commented: “The allocated funding from the Gloucestershire Growth Deal at our local airport will see investment on a national scale, whilst creating jobs locally. The project is a great way to create confidence in the airport, which is already seeing other developments begin and further expansion for business opportunities, growing and supporting our local economy.”
Mark Ryan Managing Director of Gloucestershire Airport, said: “We are really excited about the opportunities this development will bring to the airport and businesses. This project, supported by GFirst LEP, will enable a suite of high quality aircraft hangars to be developed by private investors and help boost the regional economy and our reputation as the best General Aviation Airfield in the country.”
Growth Deal funding, which is allocated to Local Enterprise Partnerships (LEPs) directly from Government, is part of a long-term plan to build stronger local economies, to create more jobs, apprenticeships, new homes and improve infrastructure.
