Businesses from Gloucestershire will have the opportunity to learn how to boost international competitiveness through communications at a workshop hosted by UK Trade and Investment (UKTI) South West this month.
The ‘Export Communications Review’ (ECR) event will take place at Cheltenham Racecourse on Thursday 13 February, in partnership with Gloucestershire Export Club.
UKTI’s ECR programme provides companies with impartial and objective advice on language and cultural issues to help improve their competitiveness in existing and future export markets.
The event will provide organisations with the knowledge required to maximise the effectiveness of communications with overseas customers through a range of tools and practices, including website optimisation.
The event will include sessions on:
- Websites: targeting international customers; helping international customers understand your products and services; online social and business networking; answering website enquiries in other languages. The website optimisation masterclass will provide invaluable information on how to build a world-class website to win new business from international customers
- Written and spoken communications: use of appropriate letters and publicity materials geared to overseas customers
- Language: training needs and recruitment
- Translation and Interpretation: how to get the best out of translation and interpreting services
- Overseas Trade Shows and Exhibitions: handling different languages at events
