Gloucestershire County Council is seeking support from businesses across the county towards the Department for Transport’s Local Sustainable Transport Fund (LSTF) Bid. This is an important initiative to improve transportation at a local level and reduce carbon emissions. Please see the Local Sustainable Transport Fund webpage for details.
Gloucestershire County Council has already been successful in securing funding from the LSTF for a three year programme, ending in March 2015. The Department for Transport has now announced a second phase of LSTF revenue funding for 2015/16, available to Local Authorities through a competitive bidding process. Although only available for revenue schemes, Gloucestershire County Council would like to engage with you to understand your travel choices, in order to help them grow.
If Gloucestershire County Council is successful with their bid they will aim to:
- Engage with local businesses to promote who might be impacted by matches during the Rugby World Cup.
- Help businesses with their transport requirements as part of the Growth Accelerator Programme.
- Assist in getting the long term unemployment back into the world of work by removing transport barriers.
To help them with their bid, Gloucestershire County Council is asking for letters of support from the business community as they need to demonstrate local business support for sustainable modes of transport by Thursday 20th March. For more information about the scheme and how you can support their bid, please email Luisa Senft.
