Made in Gloucestershire celebrates its first 50 members
Made in Gloucestershire is celebrating an exciting milestone of reaching 50 members of the finest food and drink superstars from Gloucestershire.
20 September 2022
Made in Gloucestershire has got off to a flying start, enlisting over 50 members within the first two months of launching. The collective representation of outstanding local makers and producers showcases the depth and breadth of the best Gloucestershire’s foodie scene has to offer.
Featuring Wolfys, Twisting Spirits, Truffle Hunter, Todenham Manor Farm, The Vanilla Pod Bakery, The Boutique Distillery, Simon Weaver Organic, The BBQ Society, Ethical Addictions Coffee Roasters, and The Artisan Kitchen to name but a few, Made in Gloucestershire’s directory is packed full of fantastic flavour from Gloucestershire.
Made in Gloucestershire aims to connect locals, tourists, chefs, hospitality managers and fellow businesses with resident producers based within the county. The scheme has already been a hit for aiding local procurement.
“I was really excited to see Made in Gloucestershire launch and jumped at the chance to join as one of their first members. The proof is quite literally ‘in the pudding’ as I have already received a large corporate order through Made in Gloucestershire from Target PR. From helping businesses to buy from each other to supporting residents shop smarter through buying local, Made in Gloucestershire is the perfect one-stop-shop to discover something new. There are so many small local producers in Gloucestershire so to be recognised by a scheme like this is really important. There are tough times ahead for many businesses but by supporting local and buying from small independents, we can all make a difference.” – Samantha Monoyou, Founder of The Sugar Rose Kitchen
“We used Made in Gloucestershire’s website to browse for a local supplier who would be able to create some baked treats as part of a gift box for clients, to mark Target’s 45th birthday. We discovered The Sugar Rose Kitchen and got in touch with Samantha who was beyond helpful and was able to deliver exactly what we were looking for. As a Cheltenham-based SME ourselves, we love supporting other local businesses. We are so pleased to see Gloucestershire’s food and drink producers being represented as a collective through Made in Gloucestershire. It makes it so easy to find hidden gems within our county that are producing world-class food and drink right on our doorstep. We are completely spoilt for choice!” – Sarah Bryars, Chief Executive of Target PR
Use the online directory to browse for local producers, pubs, restaurants, farm shops, caterers and more. Find anything and everything from brownies and beer to cheese, croissants and cafés.
“There is so much to celebrate about our county not just on Gloucestershire Day but every day, and our world-class food and drink scene is a jewel in Gloucestershire’s crown. Already through Made in Gloucestershire I have discovered new businesses I hadn’t heard off before, like Cherry Moo Ice-cream who are based just around the corner from where I live! That’s the whole point of Made in Gloucestershire; to help everyone find a local business they’ll love. Through buying and supporting local, we can help Gloucestershire’s economy to thrive.” – Dev Chakraborty, Deputy Chief Executive, GFirst LEP
Proudly supported by GFirst LEP and an array of partner organisations, the scheme is looking for more food and drink businesses to join. Made in Gloucestershire is fully funded until 31 August 2024 so all businesses can enjoy free membership and promotion while the scheme gets up and running in the first two years of operation.
