A new high-tech enterprise hub promoting agri-tech innovation in Gloucestershire has launched today.
Trent Lodge at Farm491, which is based at the Royal Agricultural University (RAU) in Cirencester now has access to its office space available.
With plans to create 55 new agri-tech companies and over 200 new employees over the next 5 years, Farm491 is an exciting proposition that aims to inspire and stimulate innovation in agri-tech.
Developed as a co-working environment for innovators to grow their businesses by applying technology to agriculture, the Farm491 business will be providing high-spec facilities to foster entrepreneurship, ideas generation and collaboration.
The enterprise hub covers over 1,000 acres of farmland and will comprise of three dynamic innovation spaces - a converted lodge for modern office space, practical workspaces in a farm barn and a state of the art technological centre – there will also be access to 491 hectares of farmland for field work and practical testing of ideas.
Trent Lodge is the first part of the development project and in its entirety will be able to accommodate 30 businesses.
Whether businesses would like to use the space for ‘hot-desking’, retain a permanent work base, or utilise support and share ideas amongst industry peers, Trent Lodge offers a flexible, inclusive working environment. It can also facilitate virtual working for those who are located further afield.
