Open Evening at Berkeley GREEN Campus
Aspiring engineers, budding scientists and would-be cyber security protectors can discover the vast array of career and learning opportunities coming to the Berkeley GREEN Campus, by attending an open evening, Thursday 9 June, 17:30 -20:00.
27 May 2016
The new campus, which is due to open September 2017, will offer some of the best training facilities in the country for the science, technology, mathematics and engineering industries and will also house the College’s University Technical College (UTC).
The whole community is invited to the open evening, where visitors can speak with staff to find out about the site’s exciting Engineering, Construction, Digital Technologies provision and the UTC. There will also be an opportunity to tour the site and hear about planning for the brand new GREEN Skills Centre and tuck-in to a complimentary barbecue.
The Skills Centre itself will be developed over the next five years into a campus, which will incorporate education, training, business start-up and research facilities and will focus on the development of Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics.
Opening in 2017, the UTC will provide specialist, high quality, vocational and academic education for learners with a strong interest in Advanced Engineering and Digital Technologies. SGS Berkeley GREEN UTC is one of sixty planned or already open University Technical Colleges nationally.
Principal, Sara-Jane Watkins comments: “Our open events at the Berkeley GREEN Campus have been very popular and visitors have found them to be highly beneficial. If you are interested to discover what the new campus can offer you, pay us a visit on Thursday 9 June.”
The Gloucestershire Renewable Energy, Engineering and Nuclear skills centre is part financed by the Gloucestershire Growth Deal 2015 to 2021.
