Private Sector Board Member - Small Business Champion

GFirst LEP’s primary goal is to grow the economy of Gloucestershire and we have achieved significant success since our formation in 2011.  We’re currently investing over £100 million in capital projects and over £35 million of European funding.

The role of Small Business Champion is to represent small businesses on the GFirst LEP Board, and ensure that their needs are considered in the decision making of the LEP.  This role complements our existing business engagements and support for SMEs, including through our Growth Hub Network. 

Our SME Champion will Chair our Business Membership Group. The aim of this group is to provide a forum to enable representatives from all of the Counties Business Membership Groups to engage directly with representatives from the Board of GFirst LEP. The primary purpose of the group is to provide a conduit between the LEP Board and members of their membership groups on mutual needs and solutions that enhance economic growth. Meetings are quarterly.

We want GFirst LEP to continue to be successful and we’re looking for board members who have the drive, passion and commitment to help our partners and our great executive team make that happen.  Gloucestershire’s Local Enterprise Partnership is led by the business community in partnership with voluntary, education and public sectors to help Gloucestershire realise its economic potential.  

Government are committed to enhancing the roles of LEPs and you’d be joining the board at an extremely exciting time as we work with our partners to implement our current plans and develop proposals for a great future for the county.
